Childcare Package

The Australian Government’s New Child Care Package (Jobs for Families Child Care Package)  commenced in July 2018. This will result in a number of changes to how child care subsidies are paid in Australia

Childcare Subsidy

The new Child Care Subsidy (CCS) will be one payment made directly to the child care service. The percentage that you will be eligible to receive from CentreLink will be based on three factors:

  • Combined family income – Under the Child Care Subsidy, the percentage of subsidy a family is entitled to is based on their combined annual income
  • Activity level of families – enables a family to claim a subsidy (eg: work, study or training) up to a maximum of 100 hours per fortnight based on the parent with the least number of hours
  • Type of childcare – BRELC and Monash Vale ELC  is Long Day Care services and the hourly rate is capped at $11.77
