Health and Well being

“Having good mental health is the key to the healthy development and well being of every child”

Support and Collaboration

At Monash Vale Early Learning Centre, we value the importance of mental health and wellbeing of our children, families and educators. Our team works with Be You to provide support and ongoing learning and development. Children need good mental health- not only to be able to deal with challenges and adapt to change, but so they feel good about themselves, build healthy relationships with others and enjoy life.

Be You aims to transform our approach to supporting children and young people’s mental health in Early Learning Services.

Peter Verveniotis is our service’s Family, Child and educator Health and Wellbeing officer. In his years of experiences and support from the QEC (Queen Elizabeth Centre), we offers support and upskilling out educators to support families in mental health and wellbeing.

Achievement program

Here at Monash Vale ELC, we offer healthy meals and nutrition and believe that nutrition play a pivotal role in a child’s physical and mental development. Children form lifelong eating habits by the time they reach school, therefore we place emphasis on providing fresh fruit and healthy meals for all children.

The Achievement Program is supported by the Victorian Government and delivered by Cancer Council Victoria.

The vision is for every Victorian to be healthy, well and participate – at work, in school or in early childhood care.
